Our Woman Crush this Wednesday is Ebonylife CEO, Mo Abudu

This multi-faceted media mogul has warmed her way into the hearts of audiences in Africa.

Mosunmola Abudu, popularly known as Mo, is a Nigerian media mogul who, according to Forbes, is “Africa’s Most Successful Woman”. Her face has been constant in the media for almost 12 years now — a talk show host, TV producer, media personality, human resources management consultant, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

After studying Human Resource Management and having two children in a short-term marriage, Mo started her career as a recruitment consultant in the UK. After that, she went on to work for other big businesses before starting her own specialist HR company as well as an executive training center at the Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park, Lagos in 2000.

In 2006, she started EbonyLife TV and became the Executive Producer & Host of the hit talk show “Moments with Mo" which was the first syndicated daily talk show on African regional television. The show addressed topics ranging from politics, entertainment, culture, health and inspiring events.

Throughout its run, Moments with Mo hosted an impressive list of guests that includes Hilary Clinton, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Muhammadu Buhari, Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Wole Soyinka among others.

She is also the creator of The Debaters, a reality TV show funded by Guaranty Trust Bank.

On June 30, 2013, MO Abudu's TV Network EbonyLife, began broadcasting to a pan-African audience. The channel is distributed to 49 African countries, including South Africa and Southern African countries. So far, EbonyLlife TV has produced and aired original shows like "Sons of the Caliphate," "Fifty the Series" and "The Governor."

Ebonylife Films has also produced and co-produced hit movies such as "The Wedding Party", "The Wedding Party 2" and "Fifty", which are the top grossing Nigerian movies of all time.
