Definitely not for the faint-hearted, neon is a colour that's guaranteed to get you noticed. With sun-kissed skin and a few choice accessories, neon outfits are all the rage. Here's how you can serve major looks in the hue of the season; neon.

Every few cycles, neon makes a comeback just in time to see off summer tans and nights out with friends. The shade adds a much-needed dash of vibrancy to any outfit but you have to follow a few rules to make sure you get the look just right.

How To Wear Neon

  • Pick a shade that goes best with your skin tone and hair colour
  • Don't do neon overkill. Take a couple of neon pieces and combine them with neutral shades. Or simple accessories like a neon belt and matching purse can always be added to an outfit for an injection of colour.
  • Since neon colours are extremely bold and eye-catching, they tend to make people look larger so be mindful of your size and shape. If you have a triangle figure, use the neon colours for your top part. For oval-shaped bodies feel free to use neon bottoms. If you have an ideal body shape with proper curves and slim legs, then wear neon wherever you like (lucky you!)
  • If you're not sure that the colour will suit you, try small neon accessories first before purchasing any other piece of clothing. A neon belt or a clutch, or just your favourite neon nail polish can give you a good indication of what will look good.
