Why stylist is every designer's dream but not a 'trendy inspiration'

Ezinne Chinkata is a designer's dream but never one to follow for trendy inspiration, here's why...

Ezinne Chinkata in Abaya Lagos, Zinkata and FIA

Known for her rather 'different' take on styling (putting pieces together literally) the stylist and fashion entrepreneur who owns the Zinkata store has fast created a niche for herself in the Nigerian fashion industry and beyond.

Chinkata loves her Nigerian brands as evident in the way she effortlessly fuses the brands in her daily looks (she retails Nigerian brands at her Zinkata store) and does a bold job combining pieces to make up a trend setting look.

She's the one designers' dreams are made off! She knows how to style even the most intricate detailed looks (the reason designers are in business- she's the only one who's successfully styled Gozel Green pieces, looks from FIA Factory and more which are pieces requiring expert juxtaposition)

Her style is clean, crisp but never bland or boring. She sets the tone for her look which tends towards quirky and sassy sometimes but one thing, she'd never be caught in anything 'trendy' she plays with her style and it's evident in her fun, daring, standout looks.

(A pretty lady who once made a style out of tying a wrapper over denim for one of the most unique looks ever that caused a frenzy on social media ) A lot of people don't get her look, it takes only daring, creative and people somewhat attentive to details to understand her style.

Asked once how she gets inspired to dress up she revealed, "I dress for comfort.. I wear what I feel super comfortable and confident in.. I look in the mirror and if it looks right in my eyes, I go for it wholeheartedly.

"Fashion is a means of self expression.. It is fun and should not be taken too seriously.. It is dictated by my mood.. I also like easy looks.. not too fussy with an air of "Insouciance"Ezinne Chinkata told Pulse in a chat recently.

She styled some made in Nigeria pieces-even the tricky pieces- and she pulled them off just right, creating inspirations in ways not expected.

If you're looking for a trendy/'Instagram boutique' style inspiration, Ezinne Chinkata is definitely not your style inspiration but for original, playful, fun, fashion forward, out-of-the-box styling then by all means she is the one!
