The 2016 annual global beach soccer event, COPA Lagos kicked off on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
Akinwunmi Ambode, Victor Ikpeba, D'banj attend this year's beach soccer fiesta
COPA Lagos kicked off on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Eko Atlantic city front, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event which had lots of top personalities in attendance held at the Eko Atlantic city front with varieties of events taking place.
The day started with an exhibition match between Enyimba beach soccer team against one of the sponsors, Pepsi beach soccer team with the latter winning the game.
Next up was the game between Nigerian celebrity beach soccer team, which consisted of D'banj, Peter Okoye, Jimmie, Ehiz, Sensei Uche and others against a team of ex-Super eagles players such as Victor Ikpeba, Mutiu Adepoju, Aloy Agu, Victor Agali, Ifeanyi Udeze, and more. The ex-Super eagles team won the match 2-1.

The final game for the day was between Nigeria Super sand eagles and the Switzerland beach soccer team.
Present at the event was the Executive Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, Group managing director FCMB, Ladi Balogun, other government personalities, Frank Edoho who played for the ex-Eagles beach soccer team and Singer, Falana who led the singing of the Nigerian national anthem.
The organisers, Kinetic Sports have promised fans that they will experience a unique and exclusive beach lifestyle including, a fashion show and celebrity entertainment at this year edition.
