Reading through random articles on the internet, most related to the music scene and next thing I see is “’’.

This is a massive achievement for an artist but any artist can do this only if you’re a wise guy. When dissecting ‘Views’ it’s just a twenty track album but there is more to it than just twenty songs by a rapper.

Obviously, a rapper is expected to spit bars, talk about his cars, luxurious lifestyle and surely the WOMEN. But that’s not where am going, an artist like drake has gone a long way since his days as just another kid signed to YMCMB to the founder of a record label to a Grammy-winning rapper.

To be honest the only thing different from drake and any other rapper anywhere in the world is his constant evolution in terms of his sound and the continuous gaining of inspiration from so many different people and places.

Drake has collaborated with almost every rapper in the game and this has helped him develop his artistry as a rapper but most of the drake’s biggest hits such as ‘Hotline Bling and One dance’ aren’t even raps.

This year after featuring almost all the big names in the USA and Canada in the previous years he finally gained his billboard Hot 100 no 1 as the main artist with one dance and this would not have been possible without his team of producers, with assistance from Wizkid and Kyla.

Drake like so many other artists has gathered inspiration from so many places and this prevents his music from ever getting boring compared to other artists like Lil Wayne who has stuck to his dope punch lines, word pay and artistry as a rapper you can obviously see the difference between the artists.

In an interview with rolling stones, the Weeknd revealed that although drake has helped his career a lot he actually co-wrote,produced and contribute significantly to make ‘Take care’ which is Drake’s only Grammy-winning album so far.

Drake is just one of the so many artists that have continuously worked with a lot of people and stepped out of their original genre or comfort zone and gain more inspiration from a lot of it.

Even Nigerian acts like artists like wizkid have been criticized for ‘stealing from other artists to improve their music’ but as long as these artists lack the evidence it can’t affect his public image or either reduce his artistry.

With the analysis above any wise person or even a birdbrain can see the relevance of gathering inspiration from other artists and genre’s to yours to improve your music.
