Ruby reveals that she grew up with M.I in Jos, and when the bright lights of Chocolate City came calling, he promised to come back for them, which he did.
She told Pulse TV: Loopy Music came about by me meeting Jesse Jagz in Jos, in 2002. And then we're like in a choir together, then we formed a dance crew with a bunch of our friends, and then a year later, M.I (Abaga) came back from the states, and he was like, 'you guys have this crew of tight talented guys. Why don't we form something?
That's really how it (Loopy Music) started. It was more like a movement, I was not like a label or anything. We'll go around, we'll sing, anywhere we'll perform. Churches, schools, bars, wherever they allowed us to sing, that's what we did.
Eventually M.I got approached by Chocolate City, he got signed, and he said you guys hold on, when I make it, I'm going to come back for you everybody.
And one by one, from Jesse (Jagz), to Ice Prince, he put them on. And ten years later he was like 'Ruby, let's do Loopy Music. So in 2012, we launched.
Ruby Gyang currently is in the charts across Africa, after she dropped her amazing 'Good Man' single and video, in which she expressed appreciation to all the good men who had put a positive spin on her life.
