NBC renews reality series for 2 more seasons, Gwen Stefani to return as coach

On Tuesday, October 18, 2016, NBC announced the double renewal of its successful reality series,

The network also announced that Miley Cyrus who joined the 11th season as a coach, will not participate in the 12th season, with Gwen Stefani returning.

Stefani will return for season 12 alongside Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys, who also made her debut as a judge on the 11th season.

Cyrus will however resume her coaching duties in the 13th season which is slated for a 2017 Fall debut.

After weeks of competition, Alisan Porter won the 10th season of the juggernaut reality series. She beat Adam Wakefield, Hannah Huston and Laith Al-Saadi to win the coveted prize.

Alison Porter's win also made Christina Aguilera the first female coach to have a winner.

Aguilera joined other winners including Adam Levine,Usher, William Pharrell, and Blake Shelton, who are the only other coaches to win since 2011.
