According to Babayemi, the law must take its course. He further revealed that no formal request has been made to the guild for any sort of assistance.

“My position as interim chairman is that no formal request has been made to us for assistance in anyway," he said.

“As such what you do in that kind of situation is you allow the law to take its course, because law and order is paramount in building society.

“If he has been found to commit that offence, the law must take its course.’’

Egbegbe was beaten and arrested at Computer Village, Ikeja on Tuesday, November 22, for stealing 9 iPhones from one Keelcech Innovations Store.

Egbegbe released a statement addressing the news of his arrest, claiming to have been released and at home 'chilling'.

However, Pulse paid a visit to Computer Village and learnt that it was hardly the first time Egbegbe had been involved in stealing, alleging that he made use of charms.

According to an Instagram post by Seun Oloketuyi, Egbegbe of Ebony Films Productions was granted bail on Thursday, November 24, 2016, by the magistrate court in Lagos with adjournment of case till February 18, 2017.
