Actor might play Neil Armstrong in biopic

Ryan Gosling might star as the first man to ever walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, in a new biopic.

 

According to Deadline, Ryan Gosling is being eyed to take the lead role in a developing Neil Armstrong biopic "First Man."

According to the reports, "Whiplash" director, Damien Chazelle, is also in talks to direct the screenplay adaptation of James Hansen's biography of the astronaut  entitled "First Man: A Life of Neil."

The biopic which will be written by "Spotlight" writer, Josh Singer, will focus on the story of Armstrong, who made history as the first person ever to walk on the Moon, on 21 July 1969.

He also secured the honour of becoming NASA's first civilian astronaut to fly in space, acting as command pilot of Gemini 8 in March 1966. The upcoming biopic will be Gosling and Chazelle's second collaboration. The duo are currently in production of the musical "La La Land."
