In 2016, Deyemi Okanlawon, who made his acting debut in 2010, featured in movies like "If Tomorrow Never Comes," starred in the hit web series "Gidi Up," was nominated in a 'revelation of the year category.'

It is the height of absurdity to nominate an actor without announcing the movie which earned him or her a spot on the list.

Most Nigerian awards come off as a compilation of friends, family, veterans and the sensation of the moment.

3. Nominating a 2013/2014 production in 2016.

2016 has been a great movie year for Nollywood. Have you seen Richard Mofe Damijo's performance in "Oloibiri," Somkele Idhalama's outstanding performance in "93 Days," among other skilful interpretations of roles?

You probably  have, but organizers of an award of over three years think nominating Yemi Blaq in 2016 for his performance in a 2014 movieis a better option.

4. Existence of ridiculous categories

From best use of indigenous Nigerian language in movie (what happened to best indigenous movie) to best use of Nigerian food, some categories should just not exist.

While explaining himself, the actor listed several reasons for his controversial post. He said, "Early this year, I was nominated for an award and I wasn’t invited, how will you nominate somebody for an award and not invite him and even inform him in good time about his nomination."

How does that even happen?

6. Nominating a big screen production in a 'small screen category' and vice versa

Nominating Iyabo Ojo for her role in the 2016 movie "Black Val,"  Ruth Kadiri for the 2014 movie "Matters Arising" and Toyin Aimakhu for the 2015 movie "Iya Ibadan" alongside Okawa Shanazy for her role in the TV series "Delilah,"  Meg Otanwa for "Hush" and Juliana Olayode for "Jenifa's Diary," is ridiculous.

Why and how does a movie actress get a nomination in a category announced as 'best actress TV series'?
