Director quits sequel over creative differences with Ryan Reynolds

According to a report by Deadline, Tim Miller will not return for the sequel.

Miller who helmed the first box office blockbuster has left the  sequel due to “creative differences” with the film’s lead actor, Ryan Reynolds.

According to the report by Deadline, Miller’s departure was amicable, and he will direct Fox's  film adaptation of Daniel Suarez’s sci-fi thriller "Influx."

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, undefinedas a disfigured and unstable mercenary, Wade Wilson, who was subjected to an experiment that had hoped to cure his cancer by receiving a regenerative healing factor, but instead ended in a disastrous result.

The first film was directed by Tim Miller, with a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Andre Tricoteux, and Leslie Uggams.

Synopsis

In an effort to cure his cancer, former special forces operative Wade Wilson was subjected to an experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, disfigured skin, an unstable mind and a "dark, twisted" sense of humor. Armed with new abilities and a new identity, Wilson hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

The 2016 "Deadpool" movie grossed $782m worldwide on a $58m budget.
