Okey Bakassi, Mercy Aigbe to host Abia edition

Okey Bakassi and Mercy Aigbe have been announced as the host to the 2016 edition of the Best of Nollywood awards scheduled to hold in Abia.

Scheduled to hold in Abia on December 10, 2016, the organisers unveiled the hosts on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.

Speaking on the decision of the 2016 organising committee, the producer of BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi said "Pairing this two just tells you anything can happen when it comes to BON Awards."

Speaking further, he said, "Okey is one of Nigeria’s most prolific Comedians and an actor who for over two decades has carved a niche for himself as a vintage entertainer while Mercy Aigbe Gentry has over the years built her career as the new darling of new school Nollywood."

In years past, the movie awards ceremony had been hosted by celebrities that include DJ Jimmy Jatt, Deji Falope, Chioma Akpotha, Gbenga Adeyinka 1st, Fred Amata, Gbemi Olateru, Gideon Okeke and Bimbo Akintola.

Organisers recently held a celebrity reading sessions to students in school in Abia state with top movie stars in attendance.
