Voting for AMVCA ends in 11 days, have you voted for your faves yet?

Before the stage lights up beautifully in celebration of the best talent in the film and TV industry across on March 14, movie lovers across Africa still have an opportunity to vote for their favourite actors and actresses across the various categories in the 7th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Voting for AMVCA ends in 11 days, have you voted for your faves yet?

Voting for the AMVCA opened on the midnight of Thursday, February 6, following the announcement of nominees. The categories open for voting include Best Actor in a Comedy (Movie/TV Series), Best Actor in a Drama (Movie/TV Series), Best Actress in a Comedy (Movie/TV Series), Best Actress in a Drama (Movie/TV Series), Best Supporting Actor (Movie/TV Series), Best Supporting Actress (Movie/TV Series) and Best Short Film or Online Video.

Some of the big screen superstars eligible for honours in these categories include Ramsey Nouah (Living in Bondage and Merry Men 1), Nkem Owoh (God Calling), Sola Sobowale (King of Boys), Toyin Abraham (Kasanova and Bling Lagosians), Richard Mofe-Damijo (Seven), Funke Akindele (Moms At War) and rapper Reminisce (King of Boys) .

After bagging multiple nominations in one category, versatile actors Toyin Abraham and Zainab Balogun will fancy their chances when the awards ceremony holds in two weeks, after bagging multiple nominations under one category. Rapper Reminisce also has a rare opportunity to join Falz as one of few Nigerian artistes to have won the AMVCA whilst newcomer, Gloria Sarfo from Ghana will be vying for a chance to win the coveted AMVCA statuette.

In the Best Online Video category, nominated works include ‘Oga John’ ‘Thorn’, ‘Prueba’ and ‘Tokunbo’.

Interested voters can register on the AMVCA website Africa Magic Website. See breakdown of voting process below:

  •  Register to vote on the Africa Magic website– africamagic.tv/amvca
  • Click on the Vote menu item.
  • Click on Register and enter your name, surname, cell phone number in the international format e.g. +234731234567, email address, select your location, enter your year of birth, gender and your preferred password, and select the checkbox to accept the Multichoice terms and conditions, then click “continue”
  • You will receive an OTP (One Time Pin) via SMS.
  • Enter your OTP
  • Once registered, you will be able to vote after the nomination show
  • Website votes are free.
  • Data costs apply.

Voting for the 7th AMVCAs closes 10pm WAT on Saturday, 7 March 2020. All terms and conditions apply and are available on the Africa Magic Website. Viewers can join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #AMVCA7 and follow Africa Magic on twitter and instagram for more updates.
