A female Electrical Engineering student at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Ufurum Precious Chichi, has constructed an automatic gate control as her final year project.
Female student constructs automatic gate control as HNDII project
Ufurum Precious Chichi, an Electrical Engineering student at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, has constructed an automatic gate control.
Ufurum did the project in pursuance of a Higher National Diploma Certificate (HNDII), Daily Trust reports.
She said her with her invention, which is suitable for banks, parts, supermarkets, hospitals and other establishments, a gateman will not be needed to open the gate manually, because it opens automatically after sensing the presence of a car or person.
According to the student, the automatic gate control has a micro copula control that works with other part of the circuit, alarm unit, motor unit, power supply, sensor unit that makes the gate open after sensing that a person or car is close to the gate.
Ufurum's project supervisor, Engr. Abdulraheem Abdulaziz, said a Close Circuit Television (CCTV) and counter should be fitted to the control for security purposes.
