According to Punch, the union said it has commenced mobilisation of its members in all the zones for a strike which it said would begin soon.

While addressing journalists in Jos, Prof. Lawan Abubakar, the coordinator of ASUU, Bauchi Zone rejected the N20bn the Federal Government released to ASUU to improve public universities across the country on Monday, September 24, 2018.

Abubakar said “what will N20bn do for the 64 public universities in this country? What we want now is the N1.1tn. That is the amount that the government should release; not the N20bn”.
