Akwa Ibom state governor, Godswill Akpabio, has urged youths in the state to reelect President Jonathan and refuse to sacrifice their lives for the APC.

Akwa Ibom youths have been advised to ignore overtures from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and reelect President Goodluck Jonathan, for a second term.

The state governor, Godswill Akpabio, made the call on Saturday at the Peoples Democratic Party

Addressing the crowd at Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Akpabio said the youth should not allow themselves to be ‘deceived’ into sacrificing their lives for the APC.

“Do not allow anyone to deceive you into sacrificing your lives for them. No Akwa Ibom child should go and sacrifice their lives for APC,” Akpabio said.

The governor urged the youth to vote for Emmanuel and support Jonathan’s second term bid.

“You should all vote for our President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, for second term in office as our president so that he will continue with the transformation he has started.

“Emmanuel is the right man to be the next governor of the state because he has God’s support.”

Emmanuel also solicited the people's support and promised that his administration will be for the "youths, women and students by providing employment, industrialization and quality education."

Akpabio is one of the governors set to hand-over on completion of their second tenures on May 29.
