The love that births hate

Sometimes, love pushes to hate things we would normally not pay attention to

Night prayer is better than anything in the world.

There’s this guy who most of us certainly know a guy like him, He fell in love with a girl, like biology demands, sometimes.

His favourite food at the time was Pounded Yam, and hers was Amala. Now he loved this girl so much that every new day set fire to his curiosity, and he wanted to know more about her. Slowly, he became so engrossed in everything about her, that he started to lose himself, subconsciously of course.

Take for example, even though he had loved pounded yam so much he learned how to pound it, he very slowly began to resent it. It became too white, too heavy, overrated, not worth the stress, etc. He started to resent pounded yam so much that he couldn’t even stand it. Not like he did it deliberately, but Amala started to become the right kind of fluffy.

The End.

What happens next depends on whether you like love stories or tragedies.

The plot changes to a servant falling in love with Allah. Now he loves Allah so much that every new day sets fire to his curiosity, making him want to know more about Allah. Slowly, he becomes so engrossed in everything about Allah that his starts to lose his self, subconsciously of course.

The desires which he loved which displeases Allah, they start to displease him. They start to become repulsive. The more he hates those things, the more he is able to take them off his shoulder, and the less weary it becomes to draw closer to Allah, and Allah draws towards him too.

Allah speaks of this love affair in a Hadith Qudsi;

"He who is hostile to a friend of Mine I declare war against. My slave approaches Me with nothing more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him, and My slave keeps drawing nearer to Me with voluntary works until I love him. And when I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he seizes, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks me, I will surely give to him, and if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely protect him" (Fath al-Bari, 11.34041, hadith 6502)

This is where the story should come to an end.

It doesn’t, because what should be the end is a new beginning with no end. Jannah.

May Allah make those things that keep us away from him easy for us to get rid of.

The mistakes are mine and Allah knows best.
