New Telegraph reports that he has called on all believers to adhere to the principles of Islam, adding that the lack of obedience is responsible for the issues in the society.

Sanusi made this statement in Abuja, where he was turbaned and appointed as the President-General of the Jamiyyatu Ansariddeen Attijaniyya Nigeria, a Muslim organisation.

"I enjoin you to be committed to this noble cause of this association and Islam. I accepted my nomination as its President- General because my late grandfather as the Emir of Kano then, received the founder of the Tijaniyya, Sheik Ibrahim Niass when he first visited Nigeria,” he said.

Also present at the National Retreat and inauguration ceremony was the Bauchi State Governor, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar, who was represented by the states’ SSG, Bello Shehu Ilelah.

Just like the newly appointed president of the organisation, he had an advice for Muslims. Governor Abubakar urged believers to stop with the empty talk, and start working towards helping others.

Adamawa State Governor, Umar Jibrila Bindow, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Umar Buba Bindir, also gave some advice.

He urged Nigerian Muslims to work towards developing the nation and world by focusing on skill-based education.
