Popular Preacher, Helen Ukpabio Sues UK Rights Groups For N130 Billion

Ukpabio says her teachings that a child “under the age of two” who exhibits certain “symptoms” may be possessed by vampire spirits have been misrepresented by the groups.

Founder of Liberty Foundation Gospel Ministries, Helen Ukpabio, has reportedly sued 2 UK human rights groups,  British Humanist Association (BHA) and the Witchcraft and Human Rights Information Network (WHRIN) for libel at N130 billion.

Premium Times reports that Ukpabio says her teachings that a child “ who exhibits certain ” may be possessed by vampire spirits have been misrepresented by the groups.

According to Premium Times, the preacher stated that the BHA and WHRIN had misrepresented her by saying that she ascribed these symptoms to Satanic possession and hence had damaged her reputation and livelihood to the sum of half a billion pounds.

BHA’s Chief Executive, Andrew Copson, described the legal action by Ukpabio as an attempt to silence her critics.

The lawyer representing the defendants, Mark Stephens, said British libel laws must never be abused to censor matters of such public importance.
