Clergyman accidentally shoots himself to death

The 62 year old clergy founded ‘The male leadership Academy’ in 2012, to provide academic and gender specific nurturing to young males of colour.

Reverend Phillip Davis, founder and pastor of ‘Nations Ford Community Church’ accidentally shoots himself to death while he was cleaning his gun.

The clergyman reportedly called his son earlier that day, to invite and tell him of his plans to travel to a firing range.

At around 1:10p.m his wife found him lifeless by his desk.

His wife attempted CPR at the direction of a 911 dispatcher, but was unable to save him.

The sheriff's office has since released a statement via local media saying no foul play was suspected.

The 62 year old clergy founded ‘The male leadership Academy’ in 2012, to provide academic and gender specific nurturing to young males of colour.

He received a bachelor of science degree from Xavier University of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a Masters of Ministry and a Doctor of Divinity from the Carolina School of Theology.
