Growing up, this transitioned into saying 'thanks' to bosses, friends, and so on.

While there is nothing wrong with being taught to appreciate people, we need to also learn to thank God, because He is THE source.

Today's Scripture reference reminds us of the source (God), "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17).

This is further emphasised in Genesis 12:2, which says, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you;I will make your name great,  and you will be a blessing."

It is very important to remember this, because we often show gratitude to other human beings, with little or no regard for the main source of all good things.

Always remember to show gratitude to God, as He will never stop blessing you, when you praise Him continuously.

We are all encouraged to never forget to thank God, because all good things come from no one, but Him!
