Ex-footballer eyes Real Madrid, France top job

Former French footballer, Zinedine Zidane has revealed his ambition of becoming Real Madrid and France manager.

Since hanging up his boot, the Algerian born has been learning the ropes as coach of Real Madrid's reserve side Castilla.

Speaking to French channel Canal Plus, the former Real Madrid footballer said he would love to take the top job in the club if given the opportunity.

"Yes I would go for that," he said in response to a question on weather he will take up the job as a coach iat Real Madrid.

"There is already a coach () in place who is doing a great job.

"Do I feel ready if I was offered the first team? You are never ready, but if it happened like that I would have to say yes."

The 42-year-old also gave the same response in relation to the French National team job.

"I was a player in this team and it would be good, one day (to be coach), but for the moment there is a coach () who is doing a great job. But yes I have this target, this ambition," Zidane said.

Zinedine Zidane won the World Cup (1998) and the European Nations Cup (2000) for France and also won the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid in 2002.
