US Open champion Emma Raducanu shows off Tottenham jersey

2021 Women's US Open Tennis Championship winner Emma Raducanu has shown off her allegiance to Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The 19-year-old took to her official Instagram account to post photos wearing a Tottenham jersey.

Along with the photos was a message that said, "Happy birthday Chris #coys #atheart #mechanicmademedoit."

Raducanu wore the Tottenham jersey while training in Germany.

The US Open women's singles champion when in the United Kingdom (UK) resides in Bromley located in South London.

It then seems a coincidence that she supports a team based in North London.

The 19-year-old was wearing a Spurs shirt with the number 10 and her name while preparing for the Stuttgart Open.

The official Tottenham Twitter account made a joke about Raducanu wearing the club jersey by citing her US Open title as part of the club's trophy cabinet.

Anne Keothavong, British Billie Jean King Cup captain has backed Raducanu to continue to improve after struggling with niggling injury issues.

She said, “She is still young and hasn’t completed a full year on tour yet.

“For any young player going out there for the first time, what she has achieved has been exceptional.

“It does take time to get used to life on the tour and become more robust. She certainly needs to become more robust. That is no secret. She knows that, she is working on it.

“The more she puts herself out there, the more she continues to test herself against the very best. She will figure out a way that works for her.”
