£15m for Vermaelen: Arsenal Agree Barcelona Bid For Belgium International

Thomas Vermaelen is set to leave the Emirates as the club has agreed to a £15m bid from Spanish club Barcelona.

Arsene Wenger had told the media that the layer was free to leave if he wanted to without the club blocking any propitious deal for the 28 year-old Belgium defender.

Wenger hinted of his exit earlier in the week:

All that is remaining for a move to the Camp Nou is the personal agreement between the layer and the club and a medical test.

Vermaelen joined the Gunners from Ajax in 2009 for a fee of £10m and since then, he played 110 premier league games, scoring 13 goals.
