British Footballer Wrecked After A Life Of Gambling Cost Him £1,000,000 In Loses
A retired British footballer Charlie Miller is a self-confessed gambler who after 14 years of playing football has gone bankrupt, no thanks to the dividend of gambling
Charlie, a former Watford and Rangers player disclosed in his book ‘The Proper Charlie’ that he lost almost £1,000,000 to gambling and did not realise that he had a problem until his wife said to him:
Charlie staked his gambles on Horse racing, Dog racing and football matches; he recalles a time when he won £15,000 on two bettings while his wife was away
He hid the money on the back of the trunk as he was to feature for Leicester Reserves against Manchester United reserves, his wife saw the money and was not happy that he had still gambling, he however, shut her up with £5,000.
He joined the Gamblers Anonymous Association and has been an active member even as he tries to find his footing again
Charlie is considering taking up coaching to build up his finances so he can pay up the debt and for care of his wife and children.
