Striker Rickie Lambert has left St. Mary for his alma mater Anfield on a two year deal. The striker was a youth player at Liverpool before he left for top flight action.
The Liverpool born forward has agreed a deal worth £4m plus add-ons.
32 year-old Lambert who is in the England national team squad currently preparing for the World cup warm-up friendly against Peru on Friday and the World Cup in Brazil will have his medical at the club on Saturday.
While with Southampton, the former Bristol rovers frontman scored 117 goals in 235 appearances, 14 of them coming in 39 appearances last season.
Southampton had once turned down an offer for Lambert from Liverpool and West Ham in January; though the player had always preferred Liverpool to any other club.
The Saints alsom look set to loose teenage sensational defender Luke Shaw who has attracted lots of interest from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea. Liverpool is also reported to be in the talks for the midfielder Adam Lallana and Croatian defender Dejan Lovren.
