Cameroon legendary defender, Rigobert Song was on Monday, July 20 robbed in the city of Douala.
The former Liverpool defender was robbed of a briefcase containing a large amount of money and other valuable items according to .
The unfortunate incident happened in the early afternoon at the Yassa suburb of Doula as he was driving through a slow traffic.
Song was soon recognised by a host of fans who crowded his car waiting for some sort of tip.
The ex Indomitable Lions star was said to have handed out some tips to the the fans when someone in the crowd snatched the briefcase away from his car.
Song did not notice the disappearance of his briefcase until much later.
Police were alerted by the thief could not be found.
According to the report, millions of CFA (Cameroon's currency) and some expensive jewelry were in the stolen brifcase.
Rigobert Song Bahanag is a former Cameroonian footballer, who is currently a pundit for TV channel Orange Sports.
He was a member of the Cameroon national team between 1993 and 2010 and also played for Europeans club like Liverpool, West Ham, Lens and Galatasaray.
