Aubameyang, Lacazette model iconic Arsenal jersey [Photos]
Premier League giants Arsenal on Thursday, December 2, 2021, dropped a new kit for the ongoing 2021/22 season.
The new jersey is in collaboration with their sponsors internationals sports brand Adidas.
The new kit labeled the 'iconic jersey' is a remake of one of the most recognizable outfits the game has ever seen.
Three first-team players modeled the new iconic kit for the Gunners.
Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, striker Alexandre Lacazette, and defender Gabriel dos Santos Magalhães all showed off the new attire.
The iconic jersey was created for nine club teams – Ajax, Arsenal, Celtic, FC Bayern, Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Juventus, Manchester United & Real Madrid.
At the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, this design was used by countries sponsored by Adidas and was an instant hit with supporters.
A statement about the new kit on the Arsenal website gave details on the remake.
The statement said, "Adidas and Arsenal are proud to unveil the remake of an iconic jersey, 15 years on from the launch of one of the most recognizable designs in football.
"The revived Teamgeist collection sees the famous adidas 2006 World Cup template return, with the unique design originally worn by international teams including Argentina and Germany during the tournament.
"The limited-edition Arsenal jersey features the famous redcurrant colours sported during the last season at Highbury in 2005/06.
"With its loose, comfortable fit, curved mesh details, and embroidered Arsenal logo, it’s a true collector's item for all fans."
This outfit is already available in stores for purchase by Arsenal fans.
