Reports say majority of the Journalists in Malawi are males.

The enigmatic Journalist says it has not been easy working in an organisation that is dominated by male Christians.

In an interview, Kunje said “And for a Muslim woman, the situation is even worse. We are considered very backward and primitive. And for veiled Muslim professionals like me life has been a nightmare. It is a tall order to talk of nay success. Nothing easy happens to a Muslim woman. This has led to some veiled Muslim women professionals to take off their veils so that they should be considered for either promotions or any other benefits at their workplaces.”

She also said ‘It has been not easy to reach this far. Although this country is said to be religious and tolerant to every religion, Muslim professionals are going through worst forms of marginalisation and stigmatisation.’

Adding that she had always dreamt of being a Journalist right from childhood.
