Rondo was kneed in the face by team-mate Richard Jefferson incidentally in their 108-93 win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday.

The vicious blow caused an orbital fracture to Rondo's left eye and a nasal fracture. He did not return to the game and has been held out of competition since the incident.

Cuban revealed on Wednesday that Rondo did not suffer a concussion as a result of the hit.

Cuban did not give a timetable for the surgery, but did say the Mavericks are looking to sign a player to a 10-day contract.
