Two Nigerian born British boxers will be at the centre stage on Saturday, at the Echo Arena in Liverpool as they continue their gradual rise in the professional boxing ranks.
Great Britain’s London 2012 boxing prospects Heavyweight Nigerian-born Anthony Joshua and Middleweight Bronze medalist Nigerian-born Anthony Osezua Ogogo will be facing their opponents Matt Skelton and Wayne Reed when they stand charge in the boxing ring for a record seventh successive career wins respectively.
London 2012 24 year-old gold medallist, Anthony Joshua whose current record of 6 wins out of 6 fights stands what is thought to be the toughest match of his fighting career since he turned Pro against 47 year old former British, European and Commonwealth champion‘the Bedford Bear’Matt Skelton.
The other Nigerian Anthony Ogogo will be looking to lay off his fellow Brit Wayne Reed in what is generally seen as a ‘stay busy’ as the two contest for the British championship.
Wayne Reed having already lost 8 times in his last fights is not expected to be a great opposition for Ogogo who himself is on a record 6 fights, all of them being wins out of which three are knockouts.
Anything less than a straightforward victory for either Anthony's on Saturday night will be viewed as a huge upset and derailment of a promising career.
