Love and friendship by Emily Bronte

I think this poem talks about how friendship is everlasting even in our worst times and love is only sweet in the good points of time, once on loses faith in love in their darkest moments, everlasting friendship is always there to lend him or her an helping hand.

Love is like the wild rose-briar,Friendship like the holly-treeThe holly is dark when the rose-briar bloomsBut which will bloom most constantly?

The wild-rose briar is sweet in the spring,Its summer blossoms scent the air;Yet wait till winter comes againAnd who will call the wild-briar fair?

Then scorn the silly rose-wreath nowAnd deck thee with the holly's sheen,That when December blights thy browHe may still leave thy garland green.
