When I stare and look

All I see is the hook

From the water flowing out of the brook

The brook of bitterness, regrets, bitterness

Making online provision for intense division

One for the wailers, the other for the Buharist

Pouring out pent up emotions, trying to subdue our own nation

Each desiring the meltdown, the failure, the breakdown of the other

Warriors never resting, calculating, dreaming for that day

Alas! The day they can say “We told you so”

Caring little for the survival of the nation, only the point to prove

Praying desperately for a failed central score card night and day

How lean, cold and dark the heart has become?

When letting go of defeat at the polls is impossible, the heart festers with hate

When being reckless with speech and defiant to others due to victory at the polls

Breaking the house every moment, separating ourselves even farther

With our hate inspired speech everyday

Tearing down at our brothers and sisters for daring to have a choice

A choice we don’t approve of, a choice we tag as impossible

When will we change our source? When will we change our brook?

How soon will we realize that we have a united destiny?

It is one house, one nation under God

Alas! Speak for you must, but speak health to the heart of the nation

This patient “NIGERIA” needs all of us to care and nurture it back to life

Or else we must fight and beat it down to the ground

No more WALLS, pray, work, hope for the peace of Nigeria.

No more walls!!
