The American held off a challenge from England's Ian Poulter to win the event in Antalya on Sunday, producing a closing round of 65 with the help of five birdies as well as an eagle at the 13th hole.

Koepka's triumph ahead of a host of Race to Dubai title challengers ensured Rory McIlroy secured that honour for the second time in three years.

The 24-year-old Koepka was successful three times on the Challenge Tour last year to gain his European Tour card and spoke of his determination to maintain his career trajectory.

"To look where I was a year and a half ago... and now to be a winner on The European Tour is incredible," he told the Tour's official website.

"I'm excited to get to next week and hopefully carry my form over."

McIlroy's status as the world's best remains intact, heading up an unchanged top three ahead of Adam Scott and Bubba Watson, with Henrik Stenson and Sergio Garcia swapping places in the top six.

The Swede finished third in Turkey and now sits fourth in the world, while Garcia slips to sixth after a seven-under effort saw him finish 25th.

On the PGA Tour, Charley Hoffman jumped from 90th to 69th after a narrow one-shot victory at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba.

The American clinched his third PGA title in Mexico - finishing a shot clear of Shawn Stefani and two ahead of Danny Lee and Andres Gonzales.
