The Ducks confirmed on Wednesday that goaltender Jason LaBarbera (broken hand) is out for two to three weeks after sustaining an injury on Saturday, while defenseman Eric Brewer - who was only traded in late last month - has broken his foot and will miss four to six weeks.

With another goaltender - John Gibson (groin) - on the injury list, Anaheim have just two fit glovemen left on their roster and will give Bryzgalov a chance to impress.

Starting goaltender Frederik Andersen and untested Igor Bobkov are the only other options in goal for Anaheim.

"Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has joined the team on a tryout contract," the Ducks tweeted on Wednesday.

Other defensive players on the sidelines include Ben Lovejoy and Francois Beauchemin (both broken fingers), as well as Clayton Stoner (mumps).

Bryzgalov started his NHL career with Anaheim after being drafted by the Ducks in 2000, while he has also played for the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers and Minnesota Wild.
