Prop Castrogiovanni was absent for Sunday's 16-9 defeat to Ireland in Pool D that saw the Azzuri unable to reach the quarter-finals.

Italy team doctor Vincenzo Ieracitano confirmed that Castrogiovanni is likely to require surgery on a lower back injury.

Fellow front-rower Rizzo sprained his left knee against Ireland and misses out on Sunday's fixture in Exeter.

Garcia's tournament is also over after he injured his right thigh, and he will return to club team Zebre to undergo rehabilitation.
