Ondrej Palat opened the scoring for the Lightning inside three minutes, before Nikita Kucherov struck two third-period goals - both assisted by Vladislav Namestnikov - as Tampa Bay ran out winners.

Florida remain winless this pre-season, after five matches.

The St Louis Blues came from behind to down the Minnesota Wild 4-1, with three third-period goals sending the Blues to victory.

Patrik Berglund, Jordan Leopold, TJ Oshie and David Backes all scored for the Blues, while goaltender Jake Allen had little to do - only needing to make 14 saves.

Josh Jooris and Sean Monahan both scored twice as the Calgary Flames posted a 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Two goals four minutes apart from Nick Bonino and Alexander Edler helped the Vancouver Canucks to a 2-1 triumph over the Edmonton Oilers.

Three matches went to shoot-outs - the Los Angeles Kings edging the Colorado Avalanche 2-1, the Washington Capitals surpassed the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 and the New Jersey Devils were too good for the New York Islanders 2-1.
