The Canadiens set up their win with the first three goals of the game as Galchenyuk, Brendan Gallagher and Tomas Fleischmann struck.

Galchenyuk restored his team's three-goal advantage after Jason Chimera had scored, and they held on in the third period.

The Anaheim Ducks stretched their winning streak to six games with a 1-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Tuukka Rask was the hero for the Boston Bruins as the goaltender made 41 saves in a 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
