According to the airline’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Rasheed Yusuf,“FirstNation is not on the verge of folding up. In reality, since the airline launched services in 2011, the airline has built a strong followership and has been rated consistently as market leader on safety and schedule integrity.”

The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Muhtar Usman had debunked reports that the airline suspended operations for economic reasons.

Usman said "it is against the Nigerian civil aviation regulations for airline operators to carry out schedule commercial operation with only one aircraft, the reason both Aero Contractors and First Nation had to suspend operations.”
