Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has distanced himself from claims that he's planning to lead five other governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the newly adopted opposition coalition platform, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Zulum's reaction is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, on Sunday, July 6, 2025, in which the Governor described the rumour as an unfounded fabrication by unscrupulous elements seeking relevance.
Therefore, he reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, stressing that the rumour was invented solely to create a distraction for his administration and trigger unnecessary political tension.
