The people of Arlington County, Virginia, now have the opportunity to watch traffic in real time!
According to Dennis Leach, the director of Arlington County’s transportation division, this was done to enable the public.
“This new service is part of the County’s initiative to promote open data and better serve all those who use Arlington streets. We’re utilizing technology to provide the public with real-time traffic conditions so that they can make informed decisions about their planned trip—anything from a commute to a special event.”
With the feeds gotten from 180 traffic cameras, residents can see what the traffic looks like, or check out the state of the roads.
Nigerians now have this opportunity too.
Tsaboin Traffic Talk, an online platform, has deployed cameras across Lagos in order to combat the terrible traffic situation.
Also, they are planning to install more cameras in Lagos.
