Intense, gripping, and emotionally charged are a few words to describe this trailer that provides us a glimpse into the spine-chilling violence involving children. Many people have expressed worries that the movie could be very disturbing. The life of a child solider is certainly a tough subject, but then it is one that has to be addressed.

On a lighter note, perhaps, Idris Elba’s persona and adorable accent would make up for the sadness.

This is not Elba’s first feature in an African novel adapted for the screen as he played Charlie Gotso in the Alexander McCall Smith, HBO turned series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency .

Cary Fukunaga, Beasts of No Nation director, is also not new to the journey from book to screen. His 2011 retelling of Jane Eyre has been acclaimed as extraordinary.
