His visit was in partnership with the Asian Football Development Project (AFDP) which is aiming to use football to bring a degree of normality to the everyday lives of those in the area.

Accompanied by former FIFA presidential candidate, Prince Ali,  the 27-year-old was given a tour of the refugee camp which houses about 80,000 refugees from the brutal war in neighbouring Syria.

He interacted and posed for photos with the kids before handing out gifts of football shirts to them.

The midfielder said he was 'full of emotion' during the visit.

He also took part in a training session at an Amman stadium for Jordan's under-17 girls team competing in a World Cup for their age group.
