RHOC's Tamra Judge Says The High-Fat Keto Diet Is 'Not Healthy In The Long Run'
The keto diet is certainly dominating the diet world and has brought about some mind-boggling transformations since it became popular last year. Still, it's not for everybody, as Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge found out first hand.
Recently, Tamra rehashed her decision to quit keto on her Instagram stories. She did a Q&A and one of her followers asked about keto and what the star didn't like about the keto diet.
Her response was quick and to the point. Tamra wrote: "Couldn't wrap my brain around eating so much fat ... just not healthy in the long run," per The Feast . Those are some fighting words against the beloved diet. To be fair, Tamra started the keto diet a year ago in August , because she was "curious to see if this diet really works." Then, she followed the strict diet for about a month until she "got sick", Tamra told The Feast . She noted,"They say theres this keto flu you get , and I just fell off the keto wagon."
She previously dove deeper into her gripes with the low-carb, high-fat eating plan. "Okay, so here's my thoughts on it," she said. "Im sure it works, but I cannot wrap my brain around eating that much fat. Bad fatcheese, sour cream, butter, all that stuff. So, I like to do the good fatslike Ill do the avocado, but Im not gonna drown my eggs in butter and throw the cheese of top of it. JustI cant."
Tamra also says the diet doesnt make any sense to me because its just not healthy eating. She says she worries more about what its gonna do for, like, your heart, your cholesterol, and things like that. So I pretty much stick to a similar diet, but I just dont go for the bad fat."
(FYI: Technically the keto diet encourages healthy fatsthough some people do go for more saturated fats like butter in a version called " dirty keto .")
Tbh, Tamra is looking super strong lately in her bikini pics and is doing just fine off the keto diet wagon anyway.
