Michael B. Jordan Teaming Up With Jordan Vogt-Roberts to Make Monster Movie Set in Detroit

Jordan and Alana Mayo will produce the as-yet-untitled movie through their company Outlier Society, which has a first look deal with Warner Bros, according to the Hollywood Reporter . Vogt-Roberts will also produce, in addition to directing.

Plot details on this new monster movie remain top secret, although it has been confirmed that the action will take place in director Vogt-Roberts hometown of Detroit. The project is currently in need of a screenwriter to work on Vogt-Roberts original idea.

Following the success of Skull Island, which grossed $566 million worldwide, Vogt-Roberts was hired to direct the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie.

This collaboration marks Michael B. Jordans growing clout as a producer: Outlier Society co-produced HBOs dystopian Ray Bradbury adaptation Fahrenheit 451 (in which Jordan also starred) and he recently acquired the rights to Booker Prize-winning author Marlon James fantasy epic Black Leopard, Red Wolf.

On-screen, Jordan currently stars in Rooster Teeth anime Gen:LOCK. He will next play the social justice activist Bryan Stevenson in biopic Just Mercy, based on Stevensons memoir.
