It's the middle of the month and the “normal” middle-of-the-month things are happening to Sophia. She is broke, and as such is easily frustrated, cranky, and prone to overreact to the odd joke here and there. The excitement and euphoria of salary week got her feeling on top of the world like she can buy everything she wants, without worrying about the money in her account, but it’s feeling a little different these past few days. She is in the reality phase; that “dangerous” place between euphoria and hope, but the show must go on. 

Adulting means that regardless of what she might be going through, she has to show up, with a smile on her face, and walk her talk. See, Sophia is a marketer without a car; already at a disadvantage compared to the rest of her colleagues. They are able to move on the go and get to meetings with clients and prospects at the earliest time possible. Not having a car won’t deter her, as she makes do with regular e-hailing rides. She still has to show workings!

In the past, she has been paying for e-hailing rides, but she has always complained about the prices. Those fares take a huge chunk of her money. And with it being the middle of the month, she needs to save as much as possible, because there are other bills to be paid.
