Artist transforms humans to animals via incredible 3D painting
However this time, art sees the human form morph into animal forms with a not-so simple sweep of a brush.
29-year old German artist, Gesine Marwedel uses body paint to transform humans into various animal forms including a turtle on the beach, a koala in a tree and a sleeping red panda, to name a few.
According to Daily Mail, an average work takes anywhere from four hours to more than 12 hours to complete, although after a photo shoot they're washed away in minutes. Speaking on the works, Marwedel revealed that she gets her inspiration from colours, photos, nature and even gets ideas in her dreams sometimes.
Explaining her foray into body painting, Marwedel said,
'I mostly freestyle or have a picture of the animal I want to paint, but I don't do sketches before. I've always painted on canvas, but then a photographer asked me to do some face painting and that's how it started.'
She also added that the sensation of being painted is just as pleasing as doing the painting yourself.
'It doesn't tickle - it's an awesome feeling, like getting a really long massage. I love to paint on people, because it makes them happy and I love their reactions when they see the result'Â she said.
