Kevin Love was ruled out of the Cleveland Cavaliers' Eastern Conference semi-final series, due to a dislocated shoulder.

The Cavs' power forward was injured following an incident with Boston Celtics' Kelly Olynyk in Cleveland's 101-93 game four win on Sunday.

"Currently, Love is undergoing training room treatments while additional opinions are being obtained and treatment options being explored," part of Cleveland's statement read.

The result sealed Cleveland's progression in the NBA play-offs, but they will face either the Chicago Bulls or Milwaukee Bucks in a best-of-seven series minus the three-time All-Star.

Scans revealed a muscle tear and bone bruising along with the dislocation, with Love slamming Olynyk's actions following the match.

As a result of his involvement in the incident, Olynyk will miss the Celtics' 2015-16 season opener after incurring a one-match ban.

It was not the only suspension to stem from game four, with Cavs guard JR Smith hit with a two-game ban after a hit on Celtics forward Jae Crowder.

Cleveland's Kendrick Perkins was fined $15,000 for putting his hands in the face of Crowder.
