Super Eagles great, Kanu Nwankwo has revealed that his successful spell at Arsenal, opened doors for other Nigerian players to move to the Premier League.

Other Nigerians who had played in England before him like Efan Ekoku and Daniel Amokachi experienced limited success in England.

"I was the first in England who did very well and after that the doors were opened for African talents," Kanu told .

"With Arsenal behind me and what we did with the club, everybody now tends to follow the English league."

The club is celebrating the 17th anniversary of Kanu's signing for Arsenal on Thursday, February, 18.

He was on Saturday, January 30 hosted at the Emirate Stadiumwhen the Gunners beat Burnley in the round of the FA Cup.
