The 24-time Germany international said he had told coach Dieter Hecking of his desire to leave weeks ago.

"For me, I have expressed myself clearly after the Euros to Dieter Hecking that I want to leave Wolfsburg," Draxler told Bild.

"The coach has more than three weeks' notice."

Draxler, who starred at boyhood club Schalke before his move, is contracted until mid-2020.
